Product great - service decent

Product is exactly what I was expecting. Service was not friendly, which is fine. They weren't rude, but just very matter-of-fact. There was an issue with shipping (I shipped the product to the wrong address) and there wasn't a solution. They simply said, "nothing we can do," and that was it. I have worked in customer service for many years and would not have handled it that way, myself. Again, they did nothing wrong, per se, but they certainly did not go above and beyond. Still giving 5 stars, as the product is perfect.

Simply a GREAT saw !

This was the first time I’ve used a ‚pull saw‘ for framing work, and it was both smooth and accurate, cut after cut. Also when adjustments had to be made while working up high, it’s small size and light weight made it a breeze to use. Don’t know why I’ve never done this before, but this is NOT my last. .... Thank you !

First off the service I have received from Hardwick’s is excellent.. The 333mm Z saw Kariwaku is an excellent and most useful addition to my too crib.. I highly recommend it. Reasonably priced as well.

Japanese pull saw

terrific tool. Incredibly accurate.

  •  This Japanese Z-Saw is the strongest & roughest of the Japanese pull-saws for woodworking we have. Used for timber framing & general construction, for house framing & or a quick cut off for 2 x 4  or 2 x 8 materials; it is a great saw for both soft & hardwoods. The handle is extra long too for longer & more powerful strokes. The teeth are impulse hardened which makes the blade tough & durable for prolonged life & wear. The blade also can be removed when/if needed to be replaced. See replacement blade here.  The handle is rubber coated on metal.   Made in Japan.

    About Japanese Pull Saws

Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. Their teeth are very precise & are angled towards the handle; this allows you to cut with great efficiency & control, resulting in precise straight cuts. Another benefit with cutting on the pull-stroke is that you are able to follow your cutting line, giving you accurate & smoother cuts. The blades on Japanese saws are generally constructed of a thinner steel which produces a finer kerf (space left by the blade). Another major benefit by cutting on the pull-stroke is that less force & effort is required when sawing, leaving you not as fatigued when working. Western saws (push saws) on the other hand, typically have teeth that cut on the push stroke. By cutting on a push stroke, the wood will splinter & chip away from you (which is desired in certain circumstances). Western saws typically have thicker blades to keep from bending out when pushing through the cut; they also generally create a larger kerf than Japanese saws. Many Japanese Saws also have blades that disassemble from the handle, making storage easy for a small bag or toolbox. Also, one can get replaceable blades for their Japanese saws when needed.
