A Scandinavian style adze characterized by it's transverse edge. The adze is an impressive beauty made of the highest quality Swedish steel available. The adze, or tväryxa as it is traditionally called, is basically like a chisel you can chop with. It has a number of uses such as squaring off logs & planks, shaping beams, & general carpentry tasks. The small adze is usually kept for when the user is close to the material. The bottom grip of the hickory handle is roughened which gives a steady grip even when one's hands are wet or sticky. Adze weighs 1-3/4 lb. & includes a grain leather sheath.
Each axe head is hand-forged from special Swedish steel which is then honed, tempered, & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränfors Bruk Swedish smiths who stamp their initials on the head, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.
