This is a very useful tool for fine woodworking. The size allows it to be stored in a work apron and the fractional readings are what I am used to. Because it is not digital, you don't get those 128/237 readings which are useless. The only down side is that they don't appear to be made anymore and this is the last supply of them. Too bad.

In my opinion, this is the perfect caliper for the woodshop: a highly legible fractional dial on a shorter 4” body. I even like the metric scale on the top of the beam — perfect for those situations when you need a quick metric reading or an approximate metric/imperial conversion. I’ve only had the caliper for a few weeks so I can’t comment on its longevity, but it feels solid and adjusts smoothly. Certainly a great value for the price. My only complaint is that it comes with a flexible fabric sleeve rather than a proper protective case.
