If you need a mini hammer, the solid flat surface at the back of the paw can be used to pound small brad nails as well. Well designed tool. Although it is made for nails and really works best on that, I have also used this tool for prying a contact lens from and especially dry eye, cleaning under toenails, and inflicting a non lethal yet effective enough wound to my forearm to get out of work for the rest of the day. Great tool!
