  •  A compact & flexible Japanese pull-saw that's great for flush cutting, cutting dowels, pegs, & trim work. The blade has 22 TPI which makes for very smooth cuts on your material. It's great for fine work & delicate materials such as Balsa Wood, thin materials, etc. The teeth on this saw have no set which enables the blade to cut right at the surface without marring the material. Not only is the saw great for the professional carpenter, but it's great for the hobbyist as well; a great saw for model making & other detail projects. The handle is made of a tough plastic with a bolt that secures the blade in place, & gives the user an option for replacing the blade when/if needed to be replaced. See replacement "Flushcut" blade here.  A very handy little compact saw.  Made in Japan.

    About Japanese Pull Saws

Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. Their teeth are very precise & are angled towards the handle; this allows you to cut with great efficiency & control, resulting in precise straight cuts. Another benefit with cutting on the pull-stroke is that you are able to follow your cutting line, giving you accurate & smoother cuts. The blades on Japanese saws are generally constructed of a thinner steel which produces a finer kerf (space left by the blade). Another major benefit by cutting on the pull-stroke is that less force & effort is required when sawing, leaving you not as fatigued when working. Western saws (push saws) on the other hand, typically have teeth that cut on the push stroke. By cutting on a push stroke, the wood will splinter & chip away from you (which is desired in certain circumstances). Western saws typically have thicker blades to keep from bending out when pushing through the cut; they also generally create a larger kerf than Japanese saws. Many Japanese Saws also have blades that disassemble from the handle, making storage easy for a small bag or toolbox. Also, one can get replaceable blades for their Japanese saws when needed.
