  •  A special versatile Japanese keyhole pull-saw called the "Life Saw". Originally designed for Bonsai, this saw is actually great for a number of small sawing tasks including fine detail work & thin materials. The narrow blade enables the saw to reach into tight awkward places where ordinary saws cannot get to. It's also great for cutting curves in wood, or if you need to create a tight circle radius cut. The handle is made of a tough plastic with a bolt that secures the blade in place, & gives the user an option for replacing the blade. Includes a plastic case that pops on the handle for secure storage.  Made in Japan.

    About Japanese Pull Saws

Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. Their teeth are very precise & are angled towards the handle; this allows you to cut with great efficiency & control, resulting in precise straight cuts. Another benefit with cutting on the pull-stroke is that you are able to follow your cutting line, giving you accurate & smoother cuts. The blades on Japanese saws are generally constructed of a thinner steel which produces a finer kerf (space left by the blade). Another major benefit by cutting on the pull-stroke is that less force & effort is required when sawing, leaving you not as fatigued when working. Western saws (push saws) on the other hand, typically have teeth that cut on the push stroke. By cutting on a push stroke, the wood will splinter & chip away from you (which is desired in certain circumstances). Western saws typically have thicker blades to keep from bending out when pushing through the cut; they also generally create a larger kerf than Japanese saws. Many Japanese Saws also have blades that disassemble from the handle, making storage easy for a small bag or toolbox. Also, one can get replaceable blades for their Japanese saws when needed.

SUPER FAST, GREAT PRICES, GOOD PEOPLE

I bought several Japanese saws and received excellent service in terms of shipping and even a refund on multiple purchases. There's a reason they've been around so long. Will be revisiting them next time special tools are needed.
