Buck Brothers chisels

I purchased three different chisels , all were buck brothers . I really like the large handles on their chisels. The firmer chisel was the easiest to prepare, the back was close to being flat ,it only took ten minutes or so to flatten the back and put a cutting edge on it.the two paring chisels took a little longer . Probably a 45 minute job on the straight paring chisel, and about an hour on the bent shank paring chisel . All of this was done using diamond stones . The cutting edge seems sharp I will have to use them for a while to see how well it keeps an edge .

  • A firmer chisel made by Buck Bros. in the USA. The sharp chisel blade is made of high carbon steel, hardened & tempered to Rc58 for strength & toughness. It's an all-purpose firmer wood chisel for a wide range of projects. Beveled edges. The wooden handle has a flat end for light to moderate mallet use.   Made in USA.

Buck Brothers is a pre-eminent name in the manufacture of edge & cutting tools. Buck Bros. was formed  by John, Charles & Richard T. Buck in 1853 after emigrating from Sheffield, England. The brothers' goal was to provide quality edge & cutting tools made from premium material. Over 160 years later, the company is still making tools in Millbury, Massachusetts.
