These tapered type plug cutters cut fast & make smooth chamfered plugs for easy starting in counterbored holes. After cutting, the plug remains in the board & can be broken out with a screwdriver, or the board can be sawed to free the plug. The plug diameter is tapered slightly from on size to .025" oversize. Great plug cutters and fast service.
I had absolutely no experience with plug cutters before I bought a 3/8 and 1/2”. I had no problems with soft pine but had to make a few test pieces in maple before I got them right. I would say these are designed with a drill press in mind or a portable drill guide if your using a cordless drill. The tapered design worked very well and clean finish.

My experience overall was great repeat customer within less than a week an half. The only thing that I would improve on is, put the Fuller drill bits in a plastic zip lock baggie. One of the bits broke through the paper shipping envelope . Luckily it was still there when it got to me, not bent. Thank You
