  • A 2-piece quadrant cabinet scraper set made by Lynx Tools in Sheffield, England. These are good for using on sash window restoration, mouldings, smoothing pre-painted surfaces, removal of paint etc. The scrapers creates razor-thin shavings & produces a fine smooth finish when used. It is a fantastic alternative to sandpaper because it produces a precise & even surface, unlike sandpaper which tends to remove the softer parts of the wood grain more easily when sanding. The scraper is durable, & will hold an edge burr well. The blade also sharpens well when the need arises. Great for many tasks including finishing & smoothing, removing excess glue from joints, the removal of old paint & varnishes, & other multiple uses.  Made in Sheffield, England. Lynx Saws - E. Garlick & Son - Thomas Flinn & Co.

    About sharpening your cabinet scraper

The key to a great cabinet scraper is in the burnishing, or the sharpening of the tool. A common method to achieve this is to first file the top of the cabinet scraper for a flat top edge, generally with a metal file or stone, then use a burnisher tool to create a nice barely-visible hook burr along the edges of the cabinet scraper. This is will provide you with a great & superior shaving tool.
