  •  This Japanese Suehiro "Splex" Waterstone - 1200 Grit is for sharpening carving tools, knives, planes, & kitchen knives, etc. This medium grit waterstone is good for after the first rounds of sharpening on different coarser grit stones, then it is best to move to a finer grit waterstone afterwards. See here for the coarser "Splex" 800 grit waterstone & see here for the "Splex" 1000 grit waterstone. Use water only for lubrication.  Made in Japan.

    great stone, satisfied

    Second Suehiro waterstone I've purchased and the quality seems top notch. I'm not a pro woodworker or anything, but it works great for me.
