A quality Japanese Kusakichi Nejiri Gama weeder with a sharp blade. Made of high carbon steel, the blade of this weeder is very sharp & cuts tough weeds & roots with ease. It can also be used for light cultivating work. The sharp point can be used to create furrows for seeding. The blade is easy to resharpen when the need arises. See here for the short handle version. I have been wanting one of these for years and I finally broke down. I bought from Hardwick because they were so quick about answering my questions. It works best on dry soil so it does not dig in too much. It easily slices through weeds. It is just the right length for me to reach over and **** raised beds. To you the short handle version you would definitely need to be on your knees. You do need to be careful. You can remove vegetables as easily as weeds. Oops!

I love this hand hoe!! It works beautifully, sharp blade cuts weeds down easily and I use to scrape up in a pile to remove. Works well to sit on edge of bed and **** without bending over. Hope I never have to be without it. Excellent service and speedy delivery. Will buy again.
