The hammer has a permanent magnetic embedded is one of the faces (the 1/4" wide face) which helps when working with small brads, tacks, & nails (the magnetic end also helps save fingers); the other end has a 7/16" diameter steel head. A very popular & great hammer for furniture & upholstery work. Note: Magnetic head should not be left in contact with steel items or it may lose magnetism. United States9 oz. bronze hammer
Well made, and gives me a hammer with a small head but more mass than my Craftyman ball/peen hammer. The only quibble is with the rough finish-a little work with emery cloth and it's now shiny.
