Purchased several sets to replace the mortice locks in our bedroom doors. The originals throughout the house will need complete refurbishing, so I decided to replace the ones we encounter everyday. The action is smooth and quiet, finish is very nice, and they are surprisingly heavy duty compared to the locks I dug out of our 85 year old doors. The sizing was almost an exact fit, only needing <1/8th inch of chiseling in a few places. All in all we are very pleased with these locks, and the face plates and knobs we purchased were equally impressive. I will be replacing the locking mechanisms in our kitchen doors with these as well. Final thought: Hardwick and Sons has the best price for this set. I'm coming back here for a lot more pieces to refurbish other parts of our house!
