  •  A very coarse Japanese pull-saw that's great for use on trees, in the garden, & in the outdoors. The teeth have 7 TPI which allows for fast aggressive cutting & the saw blade has a special curve which allows you to saw branches high above you with ease. With the addition of a standard circular pole, the saw converts to a pole saw for pruning high & hard-to-reach branches. The taper ground, curved blade with impulse hardened teeth makes this saw exceptionally fast whether used as a hand saw or pole saw. The saw has a hooked end to the blade which helps keep the saw on the branch when cutting at heights. The handle is cushioned for a good grip when using as a hand saw. Made in Japan.

    About Japanese Pull Saws

Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. Their teeth are very precise & are angled towards the handle; this allows you to cut with great efficiency & control, resulting in precise straight cuts. Another benefit with cutting on the pull-stroke is that you are able to follow your cutting line, giving you accurate & smoother cuts. The blades on Japanese saws are generally constructed of a thinner steel which produces a finer kerf (space left by the blade). Another major benefit by cutting on the pull-stroke is that less force & effort is required when sawing, leaving you not as fatigued when working. Western saws (push saws) on the other hand, typically have teeth that cut on the push stroke. By cutting on a push stroke, the wood will splinter & chip away from you (which is desired in certain circumstances). Western saws typically have thicker blades to keep from bending out when pushing through the cut; they also generally create a larger kerf than Japanese saws. Many Japanese Saws also have blades that disassemble from the handle, making storage easy for a small bag or toolbox. Also, one can get replaceable blades for their Japanese saws when needed.
