  •  This Hide Glue is classified as 192 gram strength. It is a good general purpose glue & is commonly used in veneer work, but works just great for regular projects as well. The strength of this glue has a longer "open time" & is a good hide glue for beginners as well. BT&C product.   Made in USA.  *Note*  Due to custom regulations, this product can only be shipped within the USA.

       About Hide Glue

Hide Glue is a natural animal protein adhesive glue for fine woodworking. It's reversible, quick-gripping, transparent to most finishes, sandable, & is non-toxic. It comes in the form of dry granules & is measured in gram strengths which is basically a measure of glue strength & open time. The stronger the hide glue, the less open time one has when the glue is applied & when it sets. The higher the gram strength, the stronger & more "tacky" the hide glue is.

       Preparation

       •    Cover dry granules with cold water in a glue pot or double boiler. Let the granules absorb the water before heating. Heat to approximately 145° (63° C). Add water if needed until the consistency is that of a thin syrup. Do not boil.

       •    Keep hot glue covered when not in use & occasionally replace water lost through evaporation. Refrigerate unused portions of mixed glue in sealed jars. Store dry granules in a cool, dry environment.
