  •   This Crown Mortise Chisel, also known as a firmer chisel, is a stout & heavy-duty chisel that's great for chiseling out mortises. The blade is made from high carbon steel & is hardened & tempered. The blade has a  tapered ground end & is honed & ready for use. The handle is made of Beechwood with a lacquered finish with steel ferrule at the striking end to reduce mushrooming. A leather washer is fitted inside between the chisel blade & handle to absorb shock.   Made in Sheffield, England.
